Lucy Liu was born in the United States. Liu is an American actress, a singer as well as a voice actress. She is an attractive, intelligent actress who inspires numerous Asian actors to make it in Hollywood. The early successes of her were boosted when she appeared in several popular television shows. There, she portrayed the villainous Ling Woo. The fame she gained from the show was translated into film roles such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. After that, she delivered her best role in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese crime lord O Ren Ishii. In addition, she played lead roles in box office failures like Rise: Blood Hunter. She then started voicing prominent characters in animated films, such like Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small-screen characters, failed to achieve any kind of success. A recurring role in the critically acclaimed police drama series Southland has helped her regain recognition as a prominent actress.
